We’re Celebrating our First Birthday!
It’s been a whole year since Agave Blue Marketing began.. and what a year it has been…
In December, we held our official launch party at the Warehouse/El Puerto in central Bristol, featuring our very own vintage DJ, a live (and very lively) band as well as the obligatory burst of karaoke for those who were brave enough. El Puerto laid on a sumptuous Spanish-style spread of paella and tapas.
2013 started off with a trip to Portland, Oregon for the annual North American Farmers’ Direct Marketing Association where we met many hard-working, creative and entrepreneurial people who manage their farms with a smile and a positive attitude, no matter what Mother Nature seems to throw at them!
Portland itself was a really interesting place, not least, because of its smorgasbord of food trucks and emerging microbrewery businesses across the city.
Next stop was Mexico City for a digital marketing meeting and then a visit to Guanajuato to one of the best restaurants in the whole of Mexico (which, coincidentally, belongs to a friend of ours).
In April, we were helping to get the agritourism season underway marketing-wise for one of our USA farm clients, making sure all the farmers market information was up to date and posted across the social media network, as well as showcasing some fabulous photography of the fresh and seasonal produce grown by the farm, as well as fun, seasonal activities for families on the farm.
July was when Agave Blue Marketing had its first exhibition stand at the Imbibe On-Trade show at Olympia where we talked wine and spirits marketing with all sorts of people – from brand owners to bar and restaurant owners to brand ambassadors for major international gin and whisky brands through to top-of-their-game bartenders with international reputations for the quality of their cocktail creations.
We then took a short working holiday to travel through France and Spain in our VW camper van, visiting several chateaux and bodegas on our way, as well as to sample the fabulous fresh and local food and creative cocktails on offer in a variety of bars and restaurants in a number of cities right across Spain. The trip certainly got the taste buds going and the ideas flowing!
As the nights have been drawing in, it’s the perfect time to be indoors on the computer developing plans and strategies for several clients for the coming year and beyond.
Who knows where the rest of the year will take us and, wherever that may be, we know it’s going to be busy and exciting!
